Bread Friday!!

Phase 3 Bread Recipes

This first one is a favorite of everyone on Phase 3 Cinnamon Apple Bread.

Also try Ezekiel breads and other brands that are called “flourless” and “sprouted” as you can have them on P3. The grains are soaked in water and sprouted and not processed like other breads where they are dried and milled into flour. Sprouted breads are a great way to eat breads and know they are good for you! The process is such that grains are soaked in water and sprouted rather than breads baked from grains that were ground into flour. The sprouting process releases vital nutrients found in whole grains. and are high in protein and vitamins. The sprouting creates a natural change the makes the protein and carbs easier for us to digest. Our bodies digest these breads more like a vegetable!

Egg Muffin

P3 and P4 recipe

This is a great filling breakfast, I love my breads and I am excited to have found Ezekiel breads.

1 egg, either poached or fried
1 slice of cheddar cheese
1 pattie or crumbled sugar free sausage
1 Ezekiel muffin

Layer all ingredients, and enjoy!

Cinnamon Toast with Ezekiel Bread.

2 pieces of Ezekiel Raisin bread
Butter( I use Smart Balance)
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 package of stevia
Toast the bread in a toaster and add the butter. Combine the stevia granules with cinnamon to taste.  Sprinkle over the toast with melted butter.

If you have not tried Ezekiel bread I highly recommend it.  Carol uses it for her french toast recipe and may other recipes.  It is a great way to reintroduce grains once you are stable.  Many can add in Ezekiel bread early on in P3 and stay in or below their LDW.

Quick Grilled Cheese Sandwich

2 slices of Julian or Ezekiel Bread
White Cheese of choice
Butter

Spread butter on outsides of breads and add cheese in the middle. Fry in fry pan or George Forman Grill until browned and cheese is melted. Quick and P3 friendly.

French Toast

2 slices Ezekiel bread
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
3-4 drops stevia
2 Tbsp. Heavy Whipping Cream

Top with butter and no sugar added syrup or fruit.

Quesadilla

So one of my favorite things to eat before I lost weight was Quesadillas.

Having found Ezekiel, I am so excited to be able to make it  and enjoy them once again.
