Not sure about this but at my store here in Or. you can have peanuts ground into a butter as much as you need. would something like this work?

I buy either the Costco brand (just Peanuts and Salt) or the Whole Foods private label. 365 Brand. Both very good.

265 is whole foods private label. As long as the ingredients are peanuts and
    salt nothing more

I have done that before. It’s very natural and good! As long as it’s just peanuts (and salt) then it’s great but I would stay away from “roasted” peanuts as you are not sure what temperature they roast them at and too high of a temperature will remove all the good nutrients out of the peanuts 🙂

if all I have is the imitation vanilla extract-which I won’t be buying again- should I just leave it out of the recipe?

What are the ingredients in the imitation vanilla?
