Fruits and veggies to avoid during Phase 3

Avoid these starchy vegetables when introducing new foods into Phase 3.

Here is a list of starchier vegetables:
* Beets
* Carrots
* Corn
* Parsnips
* Peas
* Plantains
* Potatoes in all forms
* Winter Squashes

Fruits can be dangerous due to the sugar content. You should stick with your apples and strawberries for a few weeks before introducing new fruits.  Remember fruits contain natural sugars and Dr Simeons picked the fruits with the lowest Glycemic Index ratings for phase 2.  Your body is used to those so keeping an apple, orange or strawberries or other phase 2 fruits are usually not a problem in phase 3.

Fruits higher in sugar:
* Grapes
* Tangerine
* Pineapple
* Kiwi
* Bananas
* Dried Fruit
* Mango
* Watermelon

This phase is so key to lifelong maintenance – It’s just a short time in your life in comparison to the lifelong enjoyment of maintaining.
