Healthy Pasta Meal for P3 and P4

Quinoa Pasta

Family Pasta Night (Stabilized P3 and P4)

1 lb ground turkey
3 Tbsp coconut oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 Tbsp garlic, minced
2 cans tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 tsp italian seasoning
2 tsp. sea salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 bay leafs
1 (8 oz) box Quinoa pasta
Romano and/or Parmesan cheese, grated

Heat coconut oil in skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until slightly translucent then add garlic and cook for 3-5 minutes longer. Remove from skillet and set aside. Place the ground turkey in skillet and cook until browned. Place turkey, onion and garlic in a large pot and add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 1 hour. Cook pasta according to directions on package and add to sauce when ready. Top with cheese and serve.

    I love pasta, and the recipe looks wonderful. But I have not been able to add pasta in with out a major gain. Maybe next P3 I hope.

      This pasta is a great substitute for regular pasta and I never gain with it 🙂

    Don’t tomato sauce/paste have sugar?  I’d love to try this in a couple of weeks, but I’m confused about the sugar.

    What brand of Quinoa pasta is there, and can you use penna pasta if it’s made with Quinoa?

      yes that will be fine. I use different brands and try to find the one my family will love the most

    Is there just one brand of Quinoa pasta, and can you use any of these pasta like penna, spaghetti, elbow and such?

      any will be fine but just make sure and check the ingredients
