Himalayan Sea Salt

I’m visiting my sister, and her neighbor has a pantry full of fun salts. I was very entertained by the assortment of the different varieties from different parts of the world. There are so many salts on the market and it can be a bit overwhelming. Here is a quick summary of a few salts and how I can to choose Himalayan Pink Salt as my salt of choice. If you are using regular table salt, you may be missing some amazing healing benefits.

Table Salt
First, let’s briefly talk about table salt. Table salt  is actually 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals such as moisture absorbents and iodine. Table salt is dried at over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit which alters the natural structure of the salt. The processing of the salt strips away all the wonderful benefits that salt can have.  If you need iodine in your diet mix it up and use both.

Sea Salt
Don’t be fooled by the marketing tactics with “Sea Salt” blasted on their package. All salt is sea salt because it all comes from the sea at one time or another, therefore the term “sea salt” is essentially trivial. Sea salt is also slightly processed, although depending on the brands, most of the processing is not be as harmful as most table salts. Sea salt is usually processed through evaporation of ocean water or water from saltwater lake and usually contains trace minerals.

By weight, sea salt and table salt contain the same amount of sodium. Other than that, the most notable differences between sea salt and table salt are in their taste, texture and,as mentioned prior, the processing.

Celtic Salt
Celtic sea salt is better than the before mentioned, but not as good as Himalayan Pink Salt. Celtic Sea Salt is unrefined, does not contain any chemicals, preservatives, or any other additives and is naturally harvested in Brittany, France, near the Celtic sea. It is harvested by hand leaving it unprocessed so it contains those important trace minerals. Compared to other salts, the biggest difference is that the current ocean is exposed to many environmental challenges (mercury, lead, plastic & petroleum toxins, chemicals, etc.) that ancient seas never experienced.

Himalayan Pink SaltHimalayan Pink Salt
I believe every kitchen should have this amazing natural salt. Himalayan Pink Salt is mined by hand from deep within the Himalayan Mountains-the Himalayas is known as “white gold.” Together with pure spring water, Himalayan Crystal Salt offers all the natural elements exactly identical to the elements in your body — the very same elements originally found existing in the “primal sea”. It contains the full spectrum of 84 minerals. It is an unrefined, unprocessed salt that’s hand-mined from abundant salt caves that were formed 250 million years ago as ocean salt settled in certain geologic pockets.

Benefits of to using Himalayan Pink Salt:

  • Contains 84 minerals
  • Regulates sleep
  • Promote bone strength
  • Helps prevent muscle cramps
  • Stabilizes blood sugar
  • Aids in arthritis and rheumatism
  • Helps diminishes cellulite
  • Regulates the body’s water content
  • Aids in digestion
  • Supporting respiratory health
  • Promotes sinus health
  • Promotes a healthy pH balance
  • Generates energy in our cells

A craving for junk foods is often associated with a craving for salt. When your body lacks minerals, it urges you to consume more. This is often mistranslated in your mind as a craving for salty foods, especially things that have a lot of salt like chips. By consuming Himalayan Pink Salt, you can often ease your junk food cravings.

it can take up to 3 months for steroids to settle down and stop effecting your weight. I would eat healthy.. avoid all sugars and give it some time and let your body heal and see how you do.
