I go to a restaurant that has a salad bar. I order an 8 oz. sirloin steak with a side of broccoli instead of potato. (I know broccoli isn't on the Protocol, but it doesn't seem to bother me.) Then I get my salad from the salad bar, choosing only nonstarchy veggies. I ask for lemon wedges and use lemon, salt, and pepper as dressing. When my steak comes, I immediately cut it in half and set half on my bread plate (I have already asked my server to remove the homemade bread from the table.) Then I enjoy my steak and some broccoli. I take the remaining half steak home, and slice it thinly the next day and add it to a large green salad with tomato. I use balsamic vinegar and oregano for a dressing on my salad at home. I haven't had a problem with this routine, although it isn't exactly according to Protocol.
