Xylitol

Carol’s Quick Tip # 44

Xylitol is a naturally occurring low-calorie sweetener found in fruits and vegetables. Our bodies can produce up to 15 grams of Xylitol per day from the foods we consume. Xylitol produces a lower glycemic response so it has minimal side effects on blood sugar and insulin. However, added to the diet can cause diarrhea so introduce it into your body slowly.

this is the only sweetener that I use…have for years. It’s the best tasting sweetener that I have found so far.

I purchased xylitol plus stevia from Vitacost.  Is it ok to use?  It tastes good but I worry it will cause a gain like sugar.  I can’t do sugar hardly at all.  Which is ok.  But I learned the hard way with 3 pound gain. 2 pounds are gone today.  So clean eating today. Thanks

this is a stevia I would use with caution. It can cause stomach pains and diarrhea. For sure don’t use it every day or you will see gains. The best for every day use is pure stevia.
