Choose Wisely – Honey
Raw honey has many health benefits including aiding those with arthritis, digestive issues, insomnia and has anti-aging powers. It has antibacterial properties and is a rich source of antioxidants, which stop disease-causing free radicals in their tracks. These benefits can only be found in its natural form: raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurized.
Raw Honey is pure honey – raw, unheated, unfiltered, and unpasteurized is the wisest choice. According to honeyologist Joe M. Parkhill, professor of agriculture and author of The Wonderful World of Bee Pollen, honey is the only food that provides all the substances necessary to sustain life, including water. Parkhill credits the enzymes in raw honey with activating a number of biochemical reactions within the body, notably those associated with digestion.
The best place to find raw honey is at a whole foods store or your local bee farm. Many times you can even find some good brands at farmer’s markets.
