How Fear Plays a Role in Your Health and COVID-19

Our mind is much more powerful than the body so we have to control our thoughts if we want to have control over our body and our immune system.

When you experience joy and happiness, you are creating a healthy and long life. However, when you accept fear into your world, your immune system melts away!

When fear takes up residence in our thoughts, all the secretions (think serotonin and dopamine) are suppressed. These secretions are chemical messengers or neurotransmitters that help regulate many bodily functions. They have important roles in our sleep and memory, as well as metabolism and emotional over-all well-being. (see other functions below)

Dopamine and serotonin are known as the “happy hormones” due to the roles they play in regulating our mood and emotions. Without them we experience anxiety, depression, insomnia, and weight gain, just to name a few.

Did you know when the Main Stream Media (MSM) can create fear which has an adverse effect on your immune system? When you listen to the news or are active on social media, your mind is fed a lot of fear, most of what you hear are lies.

There is a war going on right now, some are even calling it WWIII. But it’s mostly in our minds, and when we allow the MSM or social media to feed it with fear, we are allowing our minds and bodies to live in this war.

A long time ago I decided not to entertain that kind of information. I decided I was going to move my thoughts from darkness to the light site. I turned off the MSM, only followed positive people on social media and read the Bible and other uplifting posts. This decision has changed my depression and anxiety levels immensely.

We must not allow Dopamine and Serotonin to be suppressed.

Dopamine levels influence the following bodily functions:

  • mood
  • sleep
  • learning
  • movement
  • alertness
  • blood flow
  • urine output

Serotonin is involved in regulating:

  • aiding digestion
  • the sleep-wake cycle
  • mood and emotions
  • metabolism and appetite
  • cognition and concentration
  • hormonal activity
  • body temperature
  • blood clotting

In light of everything that is going on in this world today, including the COVID-19 Pandemic, you need to determine what you are going to allow into your mind. I understand you want to know what is going on in the world, but you need to make sure you are getting fed from a source of truth. If you take in news or social media posts, you then need to determine what you are going to believe and what you are going to let go.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

 2 Timothy 1:7

If you are experiencing fear, it is not from God. It is the dark side trying to fill you with fear and make you sick and tired. Maybe it’s time we all try and move from the dark side to the light side.

Rise up and say NO MORE FEAR! Trust God and His plan.
