On the 9th Day of Christmas….

December 20, 2011 30 Comments

Everyday we will be giving away great gifts and prizes. Winners will announced the following day for each contest day.

We know historically the 12 Days of Christmas begin on Christmas day but we wanted to have some fun before Christmas.. this is the season for giving. We will also cover the meanings of the song the “12 Days of Christmas” each day with you.

On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me…

Nine Ladies Dancing

CONTEST:
In the comments below please tell us Do you go Christmas Caroling?  I can remember as a child all the carolers coming to the door and singing to us every year.  Cannot say the last time that has happened.  If you do not go caroling did you as a child or have you ever?

The winner will be chosen by a random drawing.  Good Luck!

The winner will receive the A Gift Certificate to Little Choices Matter.

Each day we will offer different gifts and prizes and one mystery prize!  Stay tuned…

Merry Christmas!

Congratulations to Samantha Gibbs on winning the 8th Day of Christmas prize!

Yes, I remember going caroling. We had a staff party at a friends house in Running Springs. It was so cold we could hardly sing and nobody came out to listen to us because it was so cold! But we got to praise the Lord anyway and had fun doing it despite having frostbite….

There were always carolers that came by our house all the years I was growing up. I have never gone caroling, but I can’t carry a tune in a bucket, so that’s probably a good thing. Merry Christmas!

I teach and we go caroling through the hallways at school!  Live in the country and don’t have a lot of houses nearby, so as far as caroling at home….don’t do it.  We do enjoy the band and music programs, though

Yes, we go caroling every year – to homes of people who we know need up lifting – last year our homeschool group and went caroling to a family who the mom (age 38) was just diagnosed with a terminal rare cancer – she has 4 children — It was the most meaningful that I could remember in a long time!

No.  Never have.  Never had someone come to my door singing either.  But I always wanted to!

I have not went out caroling in many years. I do remember as a child we did. All the family would get together and then go out on the block to sing.

My dad was in the military so we never lived close to family.  Sometimes we would go to Wisconsin to spend Christmas with family and me and my brother and sister and all of our cousins would go Christmas caroling.  Those are such great memories.  We had so much fun.

    Just have to share this:
I teach voice in my home and every year my students, friends and their families  get together at my house, pitch in foods and treats and we go caroling in the neighborhood. I put out notices to the houses on the route ahead of time so they know we are coming. I print out the words to the most popular Christmas songs and carols for everyone. This is the 8th year we have done this and it is a total blast. Students who have gone to college and old friends look forward to it every year! We have over 80 people attending and we carol no matter the weather!
I highly recommend people just make a plan and have a Caroling Party!

We try to carol every year. Actually we’re going to a homeless shelter in our town to carol tonight=D We’re taking blankets to donate to the shelter for the familys that are staying there. You can see such warmth of acceptance in the faces of the parents – they just want to be treated like “normal” people. It warms my heart to be able to be Jesus to others by sharing the gift of song with them in the name of His birth!

We did go Christmas caroling with my church , it was so much fun and uplifing . As well our worship team we went to an old age home  and sang Christmas carols, they so loved the fellowship and love we poured out to them , Many are lonely and without love ones , we are that sense of family to them .

Not now…but we used to! Every year our youth group from church would go together a couple nights, pull on all our winter woolies and go from house to house, singing. I can hear the crunch of the snow, see the street lights on the sparkly snow and our steamy breath as we laughed and sang our way through neighhbourhoods.  Thanks for reminding me!

We have Christmas caroled at people’s homes when I was growing up.  This year, I took my 4 kids to an assisted living facility with our home schooling group to carol for the residents.  It was fun! And then they got to read Christmas stories to the residents and visit with them.  Very nice time of the year!

I’m not a very good singer so caroling is not the most fun for me. However, I do remember going as a child when it was just fun to sing without worry.

I haven’t ever been, and I don’t think I’ve ever been visited by carolers, either! It would be neat to see sometime 🙂

I’ve never been caroling nor had the opportunity to be visited by carolers.  Closest might of been signing in the church choir growing up.

I used to go caroling when I was younger and I loved it.  I have tried to get my kids and family to go on occasion and it has not worked out too well. I love the idea of going to Nursing homes to carol! Let’s bring back caroling as a cool thing to do!  🙂

I used to go caroling with our church youth group and we did get a few carolers on our neighborhood when I was younger. Now for a PG-13 story lol  One year the hubby and I were hanging out naked and heard carolers next door. We had the munchies and went to the kitchen to get a nibble – We had all the lights off except for the little kitchen light and the carolers rang our bell – well of course we couldn’t answer and  turned the light off- they must have known we were there and thought we needed some Christmas cheer, so they sat outside and sung anyway – little did they know we already had the cheer : ) I they only knew LMBO
