The Skinny on Vegetables and Toxins
The amount of vegetables you eat is directly proportional to the amount of weight you can lose and the amount of health you can gain.
Vegetables are the edible parts of plants. They are named by the part of the plant that they are. There are: leaves (like lettuce & spinach), flowers (like broccoli & artichokes), stems (like celery & asparagus), bulbs (like onions & fennel), roots (like carrots & beets), and tubers (like potatoes)
Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is an amazing way to fuel your body with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. They are full of phytochemicals and each different color has different benefits. This is why eating a variety of veggies every day will give your body the surge of nutrition it needs.
Adult men and women should aim for 2 cups of fruit daily and 4 cups of vegetables. Try increasing intake gradually to reach this level. The insoluble fiber portion of vegetables will provide bulk to your waste, and allow your body to get rid of all the bad stuff!
