Turmeric Milk to Wind Down and Sleep Well
You may have heard of “golden milk” which is a delicious evening beverage know to aid in relaxation, and therefore promote a good night’s sleep. Made with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and natural sweetener, this bedtime latte is the perfect relaxing remedy for winding down at night as it helps to induce a sound sleep.
Consuming healthy fats before bedtime can help you fall and stay asleep by giving you that same sleepy feeling you get after finishing an especially satisfying meal.
- 1 cup Almond milk (or other milk of choice)
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
- 1/2 Inch Ginger Root
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder (or 1/2 inch Turmeric Root, grated)
- 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- A Pinch of Ceylon Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. Pure honey or Pure maple syrup (Optional)
Heat the milk in a saucepan over a medium-low heat. Add turmeric powder, ginger, black pepper and cinnamon. Whisk the milk to ensure all ingredients are dissolved and releasing their properties into the milk.
Remove milk just before it reaches boiling point. Strain (if needed) and add sweetener if desired.
