Quick P2 Food Reference

The following is a list from Dr. Simeon for  The Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). After the 2nd or 3rd day of loading while taking the drops or injections, you start on the 500-calorie diet.  This is the food list and guidelines from the manual “Pounds and Inches” by Dr. Simeons.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity
and at any time. Try different teas and adding variety
Green tea (stimulates cell cleansing, increases metabolism, helps regulate hunger)
Wu Long tea, a green tea (melts away fat)
Yerba Mate tea (increases energy, reduces appetite and stimulates releasing of fat cells)
Chamomile tea
Check all teas for added ingredients
Milk (One Tbsp daily)
Lemon Delight – Lemon water, stevia, and ice

You can have 2 servings of protein per day.  Do not combine the servings.  Each serving is 100 grams (3.5 oz) Remove all visible fat and weigh before cooking.  Occasionally, you can substitute one whole egg plus 3 egg whites as your protein serving, or 100 grams of low-fat cottage cheese.  (Be sure to check labels for additives)

Organic grass fed suggested (at least get natural, hormone and antibiotic free meats and wild, natural fish
with no additives.)
Chicken breast (boneless, skinless)
Sea bass
All Fresh White Fish (no salmon, tuna, eel, herring, mackerel, dried, or pickled fish)

Vegetables – Are not to be mixed. You can have 2 servings a day, not to exceed 500 calories
Beet greens
Green lettuce
Red radishes

Fruit – 2 fruits a day – Do not eat at the same time
1 apple
1 orange (not tangerines)
1 handful of strawberries
1/2 grapefruit

Breads – 2 breads a day  not to be eaten at the same time
1 Melba toast (use caution with ingredients)
1 Grissini

The juice of one lemon can be used daily.  Any spices without additives are OK. Vinegar is good to have. Sweeteners can be used, but only stevia is recommended. Artificial and chemical sweeteners are not healthy. No fat, oil, butter, or dressing with the exception of MCT oil.  You do not have to eat all the food allotted for one day, but try to eat all of your protein. Eating less does not mean losing more. Any food not eaten one day does not carry over to the next day.

Strive to come as close to the 500-calorie suggestions as possible. Remember when using an app like My Fitness Pal that you will need to adjust the calories to custom since you are removing all fat prior to cooking. The proper calorie count is in cluded in the comprehensive P2 book found on our site.

Blessings to you on your journey and be sure to join the Facebook group for support.
