Tricks for Chocolate Delight/Bark
Those who have tried Chocolate delight and it turns out bitter, check out Jacob’s video for tips.
His recipe is double the recipe below. (Please note that we no longer recommend using Truvia or Lou Ana coconut oil. Instead it is best to use SweetLeaf sweetener or the liquid stevia drops, along with a high quality coconut oil, all of which can be found in the marketplace.)
1 C. cocoa
1 C. Coconut Oil, melted
8 packages Stevia
Flavored Stevia – Peppermint, English Toffee (Optional)
Fluff cocoa with a fork to break up any chunks. Add melted Coconut Oil.
Mix in Stevia adding MORE or less depending on taste.
Add a few drops of flavored stevia to taste.
Also add Macadamia nuts, great for increasing Ketone’s.
oh yumm, I can’t wait to make more.. Trying to wait for P3! 🙂 Thanks for posting this!!

These are delicious. Thank you for the suggestion to sprinkle the stevia in the bottom.

Many have used Chocolate during p2 and see no gain and most it helps. There
are some however who do not respond that way. It is best to try it and see
how your body responds. I used it through most of p2 with ill side effects

Did you just take off some calories to make up for this? I am in phase 2 day 10…. I have not cheated… Been really strict: but my sweet tooth is feeling VERY neglected.
what kind of cocoa do you use?
I use unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa
Shawna,
The ice cube tray you use, would you say that each is about 1 tsp or tbsp? Is this recipe for just the snack or is it supposed to help with keytones? And, how is it ok to use the virgin coconut oil in P2 and not virgin olive oil?
Thanks, Bev
Try it as it helps some with ketones and others it is just a great snack they can have during p2
Mine is soo bitter I had to throw them away, any suggestions?
Unfortunately chocolate delight/bark will not taste like a Hershey's kiss, but there are a few things to cut down on the bitterness. I make mine (like in the first video) in the cupcake papers. I put the Stevia on the bottom and only fill them up so that they are smaller than peanut butter cup. It works so that when it freezes, the sugar coats the bottom, which is the first thing you taste when you eat it.
I have not tried Carol's so I'm not sure how hers are normally since she uses the liquid Stevia. Macadamia nuts make a BIG difference and another key ingredient is the Agave. I've also found that some coconut oils have a stronger coconut taste which can take away from the bitterness.
You can experiment by using less cocoa to begin with and add more if necessary.
This looks yummy and Phase 3 starts tomorrow so I’ll be trying this for SURE!
How many tsp. per ice cube tray?
As long is it’s the little cubes and not regular trays that make the big ice cubes, tell her to fill it 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full. I would say one, maybe two teaspoons. A Hershey’s kiss is about one teaspoon which seems like a good size for chocolate delight…

Carol, how much is the agave sticks equivalent to the agave syrup. I couldnt find the sticks but they had the bottled agave syrup. How much should I use in place of the sticks.
I am wondering why we don’t count the calories in the coconut oil and coco to our daily 500? I am very interested in trying this but scared it will mess things up.
Coconut oil does not store as fat but goes straight to liver and burns as energy. There is a whole section on coconut oil and Carol explains it in her ask Carol section 🙂
I have also used raspberry chocolate stevia & raw coconut flakes in this—-all have been delicious. Have also heard of adding cinnamon stevia, and others—I love dark chocolate so this has been a Godsend in my chocolate addiction—-and no one else touches it because its too bitter for them.
How does the agave nectar affect the weight loss/gain? I used it in my choco delight and it really made a difference. Now it’s actually tasty but I don’t want to sabotage my diet. Thanks for this post – I’m definately addicted to chocolate and this helps.
Be careful with it as it’s a natural sugar see how you body responds and definitely don’t over do it comparable to sugar in your fruit. Are you phase 2/or3?

Just wondered if anyone else noticed the stevia does not mix uniformly with the coconut oil-it’s like oil and water and some pieces are sweeter and others no sweetness? I sprinkled truvia on the tops I may try it on the bottoms and tops per everyone’s suggestions
try using liquid stevia NOW brand that Carol loves.. powder just does not do
the job all the time we have learned.. 🙂
I mix it with my cocoa before adding it to the coconut oil. I haven’t had any problems.
I’m having trouble with the stevia mixing in as well….chocolate delite is a great way to add coconut oil to your diet. I didn’t use it on phase 2 but I did eat eggs (3 whites and 1 whole egg) and had no problems. I lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks….I’m happy!
Why can’t we use Truvia any longer? That’s my favorite Stevia product because it doesn’t have a bitter aftertaste.
I don’t use Truvia because it is a blend of Stevia, erythritol and natural flavors. Erythritol is classified as a sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohols are sugar substitutes that are either extracted from plants or manufactured from starches. Sugar alcohols are not completely absorbed into your body and therefore can cause gas and bloating. The process in which manufactures make erythritol is usually by fermenting sugar in GMO corn. Nothing processed like this is good for our bodies.

Why do you not recommend the Truvia anymore?

I am on day 11 of the VLCD I have lost about 13 pounds I am a lady 57yrs old and I have found if I walk or exercise at least every other day it helps move things along. In addition I use one teaspoon of organic Coconut oil in my food every other day, use smooth move tea every day you must keep your bowels moving. Every body is different you must keep a food journal of what you have been eating so you can see what causes your weight stalls. In the protocol it says you can eat cabbage but for me when I eat cabbage any form I have a weight stall. So you must see what works for you some people have trouble with beef I don’t and you must do things to fool yourself to stay on the VLCD I do better with lean ground trukey, lean ground beef make a hamburger and for some reason it looks like more then the 3.5 of chicken breast and it is easier to prepare. This is my second try with this protocol the first time I could not stay on it and I had to get my mind renewed first and do alot of searching in my heart and praying as to how I got to the weight I end up with in the first place and deal with those issue first . I started at 197 after load day. I wish you the best of luck go to the other sights and utube for inspiration from others you are not in this alone. May God be with you.
Can you use frys cocoa???
as long as it’s unsweetened. Carab powder also works well and is less bitter.
Why do you no longer recommend Lou Ana coconut oil?
Extra virgin unrefined co is best and will give you best results

Can this be made with xylitol instead of Stevia? Any idea how much xylitol to use if you are using 1 cup coconut oil?
I don’t use xylitol because it cramps my belly, but you can try and do to taste. remember no sugar of any form on P2 and be careful with it on P3 until you are stabilized.
I am on P1D25
I have stared having heart palpitations.
Has anyone else experienced this.
I am not on this program but something similar.
They do not have a website.
Kathy
Kathy email me and will look at the product you are taking and dose and see if I can help you. Sounds like your dose is off causing you to be in more of a fasting mode miracleskinnydrops@gmail.com
This is an amazing recipe. Has saved me from falling off protocol. I pour half the recipe in little silicone candy molds, then make peanut butter with pb2, then pour the rest of the chocolate over the peanut butter. Turns out great and the pb2 cuts some of the bitterness. 🙂
Katie check the ingredients on the pb2 as I believe it has chemical sugars..using real pb might be a better option
Can we add pb2 powder to our chocolate delight? How about unsweet coconut flakes?
in p3 you can add peanut butter and/or coconut flakes but not in p2. Pb2 powder has hidden sugars so get real pb
